2025 Super Bowl Beer Commercials Ranked
Beer is so back. Not that it ever went anywhere, but Super Bowl TV ad budgets appear to have rotated back where they belong. Whether you’re heading out to a crowded party to watch the Super Bowl this weekend or, like me, simply trying to hear the audio over kids screaming, its tough to follow the commercials in the moment. Nobody wants the person hopelessly trying to quiet everyone down just so they can hear the ad. As such, I went ahead and compiled the major beer spots so that you can catch them all in one place, ahead of the big game, while killing 10 minutes before the weekend starts. Ya know, for R&D purposes and all.

The following order is my completely subjective ranking of the 7 Beer and Beer Adjacent Super Bowl commercials that I came across from Coors Light, Boston Beer, Stella Artois, Busch Light, Michelob Ultra, Bud Light, and Budweiser:
#7 - Coors Light: Slow Monday
In a follow up to their viral ad campaign where Coors Light intentionally misspelled a word on a NYC billboard to setup their “Case of the Mondays” campaign, which includes branded “Mondays Light” cartons, they have this commercial teed up to run during the big game.
Coors Light has been on fire with their quick response marketing including when Shohei Ohtani broke the scoreboard at Citi Field and when Russell Wilson audibled in a Steelers game with “Coors Light, Coors Light”. I even loved the Chill Face rollers that they just unveiled as they continue to prioritize marketing to females.
The sloth commercial however doesn’t really do anything for me. As a pun-loving dad, the concept of a “Case of the Mondays” sets up well for creative, but the commercial spot doesn’t bring any relatable emotion. I’d rather see real people making mistakes relevant to 2025 that we make when we’re tired, versus animated sloths going through their slow to develop, tired motions.
There’s also this one, which I didn’t think was any better…
#6 - Sun Cruiser: Let The Good Times Cruise
Not beer, but its Boston Beer, so I’m throwing it in here. I can’t think of a reality that less resembles mine personally than this commercial. I’m out here hauling kids to sports and activities all day, everyday, but that doesn’t mean I can’t suspend reality and appreciate this vibe. The spot from Boston Beer probably won’t win any Cleo awards, but it’s effective at setting up the occasion and making the drink look delicious. I also like how the video’s filter matches the tone of iced teas. Nice touch.
#5 - Stella Artois: David & Dave: The Big News
Stella’s commercial with David Beckham began with a teaser version, setting up for a part 2 with another celebrity that turned out to be Matt Damon. I like the move to begin the commercial by clearing the foam off the top of the glass, the discovery of the shared taste between the two, and the Ben Affleck joke at the end. Sounds like this is going to be a recurring duo throughout the year for Stella.
#4 - Busch Light: Busch Guy
No brand knows their audience better than Busch Light. Aside from the decision to kill Apple a few years ago, they do not miss. Both of these regional spots are good, quick, and funny, hitting on their top pillars: the great outdoors and Nascar.
#3 - Michelob Ultra: The ULTRA Hustle
Michelob Ultra continues their tear into the world of sports and recreation, this time hitting the pickleball court and bringing two beloved, but somewhat outside-the-box actors into the fold with Willem Dafoe and Catherine O’Hara.
Coincidentally, Willem Dafoe just went viral on TikTok for being the subject of a sidewalk interviewer that had no idea who he was. I don’t know why, but I’ve watched this five times and get a giant kick out of it each time. I love how he has no time for this guy, makes time for him anyways, and also doesn’t give a f*** the entire time 😆.
Probably just a coincidence that this happened when it did, but if not, that’s a smart way to get him in the forefront before a Super Bowl commercial. The commercial feels a little predictable, like its a premise thats been done before, but it’s fun and gets its points and athletic association across.
#2 - Bud Light: Big Men on Cul-De-Sacs
You can feel Bud Light continuing to get back to their roots by simply promoting a good party. By pairing some lovable characters and having them do outlandish stunts, they get their message across safely and position the beer exactly where they want it. This commercial may not have you laughing out loud, but it does place that great feeling that comes with an impromptu hang with your neighbors, with beers being cracked.
#1 - Budweiser: First Delivery
The Clydesdales are back for an appearance that takes you on an underdog (underhorse?) story that had me sucked in from start to finish, leaving that positive feeling after that a great commercial should. While I don’t see myself remembering any of these commercials three years from now, Budweiser takes down the Crunchy award for best commercial.
I am admittedly tough on AB, but I give credit where it’s due. They went all-in on beer brands and swept the Top 5 leaderboard for me. Were your rankings dramatically different than mine? Let me know and have a great weekend 🏈 🍻 Prediction: Chiefs 27, Eagles 24 🔮
